Hello All,
I was just wondering if one might be able to see the golden gate bridge and alcatraz Island from fisherman%26#39;s wharf (for photography proposes ???
And also if anyone knows how long it would be taking a taxi there from the airport (SFO) then back and how much (I figure $50-$100)??
We got about 4 1/2 hrs. between flights to L.A, hopefully customs will be going fast that day.
Thanks,
Lorraine
Can you see it?
Yes you can see both. A good palce for pictures of Alcatraz is the end of Pier 39. The view of the GGB is decent from there, but a better spot would be the Marina Green at the other end of Fisherman%26#39;s wharf.
Can you see it?
I meant to say Aquatic park, not Marina Green

A long lens would be helpful.
4 1/2 hours doesn%26#39;t give you much time, especially if you are clearing customs and have to get luggage. You will also need to arrive back at SFO in plenty of time to check in and clear security. but - if you make it through quickly and catch a cab - we were able to get great photos from Pier 39 of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge (mind you it was a beautiful clear day that day). You will probably need to head to a hotel to have a cab called for your return to the airport unless you pay to have one wait for you. You don%26#39;t see many driving around looking for fares.
