Hi everyone
I will be arriving in LA for 9 nights in September
I will have a car and will need to visit friends in both Santa Monica and Pasadena but would also like to frequent some of the many jazz clubs that LA has to offer eg Baked Potato %26amp; Catalina Bar %26amp; Grill
Which areas should I be looking at for hotel accommodation with parking - budget up to around $300 per night
Many thanks

LA 9 night stay
The jazz clubs are all over LA, and LA is enormous. I would find a hotel you like, because there really isn%26#39;t one that%26#39;s close to both Baked Potato and Catalina and Vibrato and Jax, etc...
But, staying in Hollywood is probably your best bet. It%26#39;s too bad that the Bel Age is undergoing renovations because that would be a great place to stay where you can also have a great jazz bar in your hotel! Nevertheless, look into Bel Age, see if they%26#39;ll be open (and have the jazz bar open, too).
Look into staying in West Hollywood, as it is also central, but Hollywood is closer to the freeway, and easier to access the clubs in Pasadena and Glendale. I can%26#39;t believe I%26#39;m saying this, but also look into the hotels in Universal City, because so many great clubs are nearby.
All hotels in LA have parking, budget an extra $20/night to figure in the parking fee.

Not sure if you come in early september, if so there is wednesday jazz nights at the hollywood bowl. Deffinatly do not miss out on it, it is an amazing experience
Since you%26#39;re going to both Santa Monica and Pasadena, I%26#39;d pick something in the middle. As suggested, Renaissance in Hollywood would be a good choice. Its a good location by Highland and Hollywood Mall; metro is there; its an easy drive (dependent of course on traffic) to Santa Monica and to Pasadena. We just used this for a trip last week-end where we spend time in Pasadena and Malibu/Santa Monica area, and it worked very well. (We have friendsw and relatives in LA so go frequently and for what you outlined Renaissance would be good.). Other hotels in this area include Magic Castle and also Roosevelt Hotel. Enjoy your trip.
Thanks everyone for your (as always) good advice ... decided on Le Parc in W Hollywood .... and yes, I will be in LA in early Sept so hopefully should catch some great jazz there
Again, many thanks

There is also a great Jazz club in santa monica called Harvell%26#39;s, which is on 4th street(i think)
