2. Decent taco shop/beer joint with view

3. Sushi

any comments appreciated.....

Places to Eat

The kind of places you are mentioning,if you are looking for them downtown, might have a ';view'; of the street but that%26#39;s all. The downtown view restaurants tend to be upscale.

I hope someone else has some ideas for you.

Places to Eat

1. the only coffee shop/bakery with a view that I could think off is the Coffee and fudge shop in Seaport village. that is about the best view that I can tell you about. If you are driving they are better places in La Jolla with amazing views.

2. Not a clue on this one don%26#39;t know of any with a view.

3. RA sushi downtown on broadway I believe is pretty good and is a swanky place. its not my favorite sushi place as that is near my house in La Jolla.

If you want cocktails with a view then I recommend the bar at the Manchester Grand. It is on the 40th floor.

Cafe 222 is downtown and has outdoor seating and their food is terrific! They are a breakfast place, casual. Your view will consist of people walking by with their dogs, etc, but hey eating outdoors in SD is a treat even without a view of the ocean.

Sushi Ota in PB has very good quality sushi. don%26#39;t be put off by the location in a strip mall, they are one of the top sushi spots in town.

Hmmm taco shop with beer and a view. I%26#39;m gonna have to say Roberto%26#39;s by the roller coaster in Mission Bay, it%26#39;s all to go, grab a can of your favorite beverage next door at the liquor store, and sit on the sand and watch the sun go down. Ahh, that sounds pretty good.

Let me think about that one a bit more. I%26#39;m sure there are other options. Other than Cafe 222 the other two require a car.

I love Cafe 222! There%26#39;s also a St. Tropez Bakery and Bistro near Horton Plaza on Broadway Circle. Again, just a view of people walking by, but it has nice outdoor seating, and good food.

Thank you all SO much........we will have a car and are willing to travel anywhere within 1 hr I%26#39;d say.....so would be willing to take any other recommendations.....

Thanks again, I really appreciate you all being so helpful.

You must try Kono%26#39;s....Garnet Avenue...pacific beach.

we go there everytime..food is great, people are nice and you can eat outside with a great view. very casual

OK no,if you are willing to drive then:

ditto for Konos-bkfst+great views- of pier ocean atPacificBeach-inexpensive

but its more bkfst burritoish than coffee shop

Also great bkfst/lunch and views at Brockton Villa overlooking LajollaCovehttp://www.brocktonvilla.com/ more expensive

For Mex restaurant with some views then try MiguelsCocina on Shelter Island Drive just around the bay from downtown ,pass the airport and you are about there.

I am sure others will come up with more ideas.

1. I would try Cafe Chloe for breakfast -- 10th and G

or

Bread %26amp; Cie in Hillcrest, 4th and University

2. The Waterfront in Little Italy -- focusing on the beer part of that request -- no tacos, good burgers

or

OK, no ideas

3. RA is an excellent choice and really close to your hotel.

Cafe Chloe is excellent for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It is a french bistro, not your typical american coffee shop. 9th and G. At 9th and Market, 1 block away is Java Jones Coffee with outside seating and a peek view of Petco Park. Richard Walker%26#39;s at Front between Market and Island has waffles, pancakes, etc. Taka for sushi on 5th.

In La Jolla, Cody%26#39;s at 8030 Girard has great food, view and outside seating. Bahia Taco Shop on La Jolla Blvd. in Bird Rock is a local, casual place with a bit of a view and beer or get it to go and take it to the beach. There is also Bird Rock Coffee, also on La Jolla Blvd.

For Sushi in La Jolla-Zenbu, Cafe Japengo or Sushi on the Rock. Can be pricey but some of the best quality fish.
