I%26#39;m traveling to LA at the end of August. Me, my sister, and my friend were supposed to be staying with a friend in Receda. Recently she lost her job and has informed us she is moving to New Mexico...so now we don%26#39;t have a place to stay. Our trip lasts 6 days..and I%26#39;m getting very scared reading all the hotel reviews. We don%26#39;t have a lot to spend..as we hadn%26#39;t orginally budgeted for a hotel. I need help finding a clean, cheap place that is NOT overrun by bed rugs or stains on the carpets. We don%26#39;t have to stay in LA or Beverly Hills...just close enough to see most of the sites.
I%26#39;ve never been this far away from home..so I would be so appreciative of anyone%26#39;s suggestions.
Thanks!

Farmer's daughter hotel???
Ok, Chrissy. First thing....
1. We are here to help!
2. 99.999999% of hotels don%26#39;t have bedbugs.
As far as stains on the carpets, I just got back from staying at the Parker House in Boston -- a fine, old hotel of considerable reputation. I stayed in 2 different rooms. Both had stains on the carpets!!
In any event, I see from your other post in Santa Monica that you are uncertain about renting a car. If you don%26#39;t rent a car, then the area where the FARMERS DAUGHTER is located (which is known as Beverly Grove) and the adjacent area of Hollywood are 2 central neighbohoods with good access to public transit. At $100-$150 per night, you are looking at basic accommodations. The Farmer%26#39;s Daughter is a former motel that has been extensively rehabbed and upgraded. It%26#39;s a good overall choice.
You can also look in Hollywood at the Magic Castle Hotel although it may be just out of your price range.
If you have any more questions, let us know by posting a NEW POSTING. (It will get the most visibility).
Good luck!
