Can we drive any of Route 66 between LA and LV?
Route 66
Sort of....
1. Officially, ';Route 66'; doesn%26#39;t exist any more and there%26#39;s no uniform signage identifying where it ran. When it officially existed there were realignments and sections/segments which were changed over time so there%26#39;s places where there%26#39;s multiple Route 66s.
2. Route 66 never passed through the state of Nevada, so you can%26#39;t trace Route 66 for the Nevada segment of your trip.
You can follow the text directions found at %26lt;http://www.historic66.com/california/de1.html%26gt; until the point where they say ';Take US-95 South';, and instead take US-95 NORTH, which will take you to Las Vegas. Alternately you can continue following the directions into Arizona %26lt;http://www.historic66.com/arizona/de1.html%26gt; until you hit Kingman, and then head North on US-93 until it joins into US-95. If you%26#39;ve got the time, this latter option will take you by the Boulder Dam, which is a lot more interesting.
The ';Historic 66'; website where the text directions referenced above are found has tons of links to maps and books of Route 66.
