Cabin Questions

We will be staying in a cabin w/bath for our first two days and then had to move to cabin w/o bath for the last in just a week and a half from now..

First off can we have food in our cabins or with all the bears do we still have to use the lockers? Couldn%26#39;t find anywhere online where is said regular cabins rules..

Also will we need to lock up all our bathroom items in lockers too?

What are the bathroom/showers like that we will be using when we move to the cabin w/o bath? And are they pay showers?

Do we need to bring extra blankets? Read a review that they only provide sheets and a small blanket. Will we be too cold in the middle of July at night?

Cabin Questions

Hello,

Spent a week in the cabin w/o bath in Camp Curry during Christmas, so can provide info about that. I%26#39;m assuming you mean the cabins with walls, and not the ones that are canvas.

You can have food in your walled cabin, no need for a locker - but you should have food in a cooler. (This is not true of canvas tents, where you should put all food and hygiene products in the lockers)

The shared bathroom facilities are ok, but during the summer they can get quite overwhelmed. One trick is to do a shower in the evening to avoid the morning rush. I cannot recall if the showers were coin-operated, but I do remember being happy with water pressure and the stalls themselves.

We had no issues with heat, even in Winter, but it can cool down in the evening so you might consider bringing a blanket if it%26#39;s not a hassle. We brought throw blankets and our own pillows, just because we wanted it to be homey.

Cabin Questions

Thank you for your response.. Yes I mean the hard cabin walls not the tent cabins!! So I can bring food in those but if it%26#39;s not cold type food should I still have a cooler?? We are driving down from Seattle so it wouldn%26#39;t be hard to throw a cooler in there and some extra pillows and blankets..

When we went (and this could be us reading the rules wrong, because it is a little confusing) we took it to mean that if you have food in the walled cabins the food should still be in a cooler. So if it%26#39;s no hassle and you can%26#39;t find other info that says different, toss in the cooler for safe keeping.

And I%26#39;d say, if you have a car with room - pack for the comforts of home to whatever extent you think will make your days enjoyable. For us it was pillows, books, food items, wine, bottled coffee drinks and throw blankets.

Yes, you can have fod in regular cabins, but do keep it packed up. You won%26#39;t have to worry about bears but you don%26#39;t want to attract little critters like mice.

The showers are very nice and all free, as is the use of the swimming pool (although for that you will need to show your key.)

Thank you both for your comments!!

Guess I don%26#39;t need to worry about the showers now because we scored a room at Yosemite Lodge for the last two night.. We have been just keeping an eye on the reservation site to see about moving to a different place and it paid off!

Great news about your room. One note I wanted to mention is the little book ';Easy Day Hikes in Yosemite'; - if you%26#39;re planning on doing trails and low-impact activities, this is a great book to have along. If you%26#39;re a wilderness person doing lots of outdoor sports, it might be too tame for you. Have a great time! -LagunaGrrl

We are not big hikers but like to do little ones so sounds like a great book for us.. Especially with two children 10 %26amp; 7! Will have to run to the bookstore tomorrow and look for it..

Who wrote the day hike book? I did a search %26amp; more than one came up with that title.
