My husband %26amp; I will be visiting San Diego in September. We are trying to decide which of these Residence Inns to stay at. We will have our own car. Any thoughts?
Residence Inn -La Jolla, Carlsbad or Central
I wouldnt stay in the Carlsbad one unless you plan to spend most of your time at Legoland. The one in LaJolla is actually near my house. It is about 12min from the ocean at LaJollashores. It is in an area of condos and apt buldings near the Univ ofCa at SD. There are restaurants and stores like Wholefoods andTrader Joes nearby. There is easy access on and off the freeway to get to other tourist sites which will be about 20min away.
The Residence InnCentral also has easy on and off access to the freeway soyou can get to all tourist sites easily, and is further from the coast. There are restaurants of all kinds nearby, especially of different Asian varieties onConvoy street.
I think where I%26#39;d stay would depend upon pirce and which activities I was planning on doing here in town.
Residence Inn -La Jolla, Carlsbad or Central
If i were choosing Residence Inns - I would choose the one downtown, right on Pacific Highway - a couple blocks from San Diego Bay in Little Italy, surrounded by shops and restaurants, and easy to get to and from anywhere you might be planning to visit.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
We decided on the Central location.
Any ideas on Seafood or Italian restaurants? We also plan on spending lots of time on a beach. Any ideas for two adults who just want to lay around with a good book and/or a romantic walk at sunset?
For quiet laying around I%26#39;d pick LaJollaShores or the park above the coves at LaJolla Cove.La Jolla cove is also great for a romantic walk etc. at sunset.
