My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to LA this October and have a spare 1/2 a day and are thinking of spending a couple of hours in Santa Monica.
I%26#39;ve read in some of my travel books that it is illegal (or just not the done thing) to hail a taxi.
We%26#39;re staying at the Beverly Hilton and can ask the concierge to order us a taxi. But how would we get a taxi on the way back? Do you have taxi ranks?
Thanks for all your comments.
Taxi's
we don%26#39;t have marked places here where people can pick up a cab. you can%26#39;t hail one either. your best bet is to get a business card from the taxi that brings you to santa monica. it will have the number for the dispatcher of that company and you can call them to order one when you%26#39;re ready to return to beverly hills. there are also tons of hotels in santa monica and any one of them will have taxi%26#39;s coming and going to their front door. you can get one there as well.
Taxi's
Actually, Santa Monica does have a few taxi stands, and they are all at the Promenade. You won%26#39;t have a difficult time finding a taxi at the Promenade or the Pier.
But you could also take the bus straight down Wilshire back to the hotel.
Thanks for all your comments.
Will is cost much in a taxi?
The Promenade to Beverly Hilton will be about $25 each way.
