X Mas at Lake Arrowhead

Hi all,

Just a quick question about spending Xmas at Lake Arrowhead.

What is Xmas like up at LAke Arrowhead?

Is it an ideal place for a big family gathering of adults and kids?

Is there good shopping close by?

Are there huge amounts of snow or not?

What are the road conditions at that time of the year and are the roads in and out of the lake in good condition?

Has anyone been there and had their family xmas there? If so could you fill us in with some info?

X Mas at Lake Arrowhead

There is never huge amounts of snow. If you are lucky there will be some. If you are looking for a lot of snow go to Mammoth or Lake Tahoe.

The roads will probably be okay unless there is a storm immediately before you arrive.

There is shopping at Lake Arrowhead Village, including quite a few outlet shops (Bass, Izod, etc.). However, the village is pretty small. I like Lake Arrowhead but it doesn%26#39;t compare to Lake Tahoe.

Lake Arrowhead is quite a small town. There is one small shopping center. There is one,or maybe 2, 2 lane curvy roads to get up the mt.

I have only visited in summer and I have sometimes found the road to be a little scary ,especially when it is foggy.

I dont think I%26#39;d travel all the way from Australia just to go there.

Lake Tahoe, has big mt skiing,casinos,more snow but also bigger rds/hwys.
