Santa Barbara suggestions.

We are renting a bungalow in Montecito%26#39;s lower village - I am mildly familiar with the area because when I was a young teen we would visit my bff%26#39;s uncle who lived there. I have been there, but not stayed there in 20 years. My friend and I are doing a ';girls getaway'; and plan to do a hike, a day at the beach (miramar or do you suggest somewhere else), wine tasting, strolling and dining. I would like to have breakfast at this little coffee shop I vaguely remember in the upper village - is it still there?

Also, wouldn%26#39;t mind seeing a celebrity or two like Ellen or Oprah - Any recommendations on dining

heard Palace Grill, Cava or Los Arroyos are good.

Any other suggestions?

Last month we attended a conference in Ventura and drove up for the day and hit 3 wineries and the hitching post for dinner - been going there way b4 sideways - gotta love it!

Any suggestions one closest, worthwhile wineries to visit?

Thanks so much!!!!!

Santa Barbara suggestions.

...gotta write back to a hottie. I am just a working stiff who doesn%26#39;t hang out in Montecito that much, but I%26#39;ll give you what I know.

Alas, the Miramar Hotel has been partially torn down, and reconstruction hasn%26#39;t been restarted in years. The beach is still pleasant though. You can do the round trip hike to Hammond%26#39;s and back to Eucalyptus Lane. I like Butterfly Beach in front of the Four Seasons Biltmore - beautiful girls, often easy parking.

I%26#39;m not a celeb chaser and don%26#39;t drink. Someone else will have to help. Apparently, Oprah has recommended and been seen in Trattoria Mollie.

You may be thinking about Pierre La Fond%26#39;s or the Montecito Coffee Shop in the upper village. Check this site for reviews santabarbara.com/dining/restaurant_list.asp鈥?/a>

I%26#39;ve only eaten at Los Arroyos downtown - same owners - and it%26#39;s one of the best Mex food spots in town. The Montecito location apparently has wait staff. The Palace Grill is recommendable and will get you into downtown SB.
