Hi Everybody,
I need some help with my itinerary for San Diego. We will not be hiring a car and relying on public transport and staying at Hotel Circle. We arrive in San Diego at around 10:30/11am on Saturday 17/11 and leave in the evening on 19/11. I am tossing up whether to go to La Jolla or Coronado as I doubt we will have enough time for both.
Here is my itinerary if we include La Jolla, i think it might be to hard to achieve.
DAY 1 : Arrive about 11, travel to Old Town for a couple of hours. From Old Town, travel to La Jolla for afternoon and sunset then go back to the hotel to rest.
DAY 2 : Zoo / Balboa park in the morning - mid afternoon, ferry to Coronado for afternoon. If not to tired, maybe Gaslamp in the early evening
DAY 3 : Seaworld.
Here it is if we do not include La Jolla
DAY 1 : Zoo / Balboa Park, Horton Plaza and Gaslamp in evening
DAY 2 : Old Town , Embarcadero (including the USS Midway) then Coronado in the afternoon.
DAY 3 : Seaworld
This might sound silly, but one of the reasons i would like to go to La Jolla is i would love to experience a pretty beachside area of California. We are going to Santa Monica and Venice Beach and in San Francisco we will go to Sausalito, so hopefully I will see something similar there.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Sarah
Itinerary Help :)
La Jolla cove is different from the other beach areas you will visit because it is a series of small rock enclosed(cove) beaches with a a grassypark above them. Your problem will be the lack of a car as getting to La Jolla can take some time by bus.
How are you getting from SanDiego to Los Angeles where Santa Monica and Venice beach are located?
If you are renting a car to get there then you should stop in Lajollaon the way.Perhpas go for breakfast at BrocktonVilla.
Otherwise even without LaJolla, your days are VERY full. It will be difficult to do the zoo,ANDBalboaPark onDay 1 when you do not get into town until11AM.
