Disneyland September 2007

Hi

My hubby and I are making our first ever visit to the US %26amp; dineyland on the 5th to the 20th September. We are coming from New Zealand. I am so excited as it has always been my dream to go to Disneyland.

Can you tell me is the weather good then and is it a good time to visit Disneyland?

We also have Universal Studio passes, Legendary LA Tour, Tijuana Mexico Tour, Seaworld Tour passes.

Any other sugestions of things we can do? We are in our late 30%26#39;s.

Where are the best places to shop.

Also would like to do the Pirate Dinner and Medieval Dinner but will not have a car as hubby %26amp; I not keen on driving over there. Are they far from DL Resort and how hard are they to find?

I have heard public transport is not that great, will this cause us a problem getting around?

We are stayng at HoJo.

The weather should be good. Most kids are in school by then so it should not be too crowded especially during the week.

The Pirate and Medevil shows are in Buena Park which is only a few exits north of Anaheim, I%26#39;m guessing 15 minutes in good traffic. As fas as other things to do, if you like baseball Angels Stadium is only 10-15 minutes from DL. Last year they had a pretty good team and you might be able to catch a game there.

Can%26#39;t help with shopping or transport as I%26#39;m not a local. Check around on the site as many people have asked the same questions. Or you might try it again only rephrasr the topic. Maybe something like ';public transportation from DL to Buena Park/Medevil Times'; and also ';public transport Anaheim to Seaworld';. Good Luck.

Hi Waydownunder

We are going to Anaheim/Disneyland from September 8 to 22 and are staying at the HOJO as well. So I am interested in the replies you receive. We are 2 ad and 2 ch (11,8).

September is a perfect time to visit. The weather should be great (it might be pretty hot still, but they have been having a mild summer so far), and the Howard Johnson is a perfect choice. If you haven%26#39;t booked yet, try the link through mousesavers.com. You can get 10% off your booking. From there you will be able to walk to everything at Disneyland with just a short 7 min. walk. I know a lot of tours and the Universal Studios bus pick up right in front of one of the hotels that is just a few down from yours (right across from the disney entrance), so check if your tours you have signed up for pick up there. I know you can purchase tour packages that will pick you up on Harbor Blvd and will take you to Sea World, Universal, the San Diego Zoo etc. You can probably even purchase tours through the Hojo. I know the Medieval dinner is close, so a taxi wouldn%26#39;t be that much. There are a few big nice malls near by, but a fun place to shop that is just minutes away is called The Block (nice outdoor shopping center). I am pretty sure the ART Bus makes stops there and it only costs $3 per person per day, you could check with the hotel when you get there. If you want to do more than Disney, look into the Southern California City Pass that offers several theme parks all on one ticket. There is info on the Disneyland web page about those. But make sure you stay at least 3 days in Disney! Disneyland and California Adventure are truly the best! And the shopping in Downtown Disney is fun too, a little pricey, but as is everything in So. Cal. Seaworld is fun and the San Diego zoo is amazing, Tijuana is a little dumpy, but some people love it. Let%26#39;s just say it isn%26#39;t the best part of Mexico to visit. I would rather enjoy San Diego, the beaches, the historic district, the shopping. There is a lot to see there.

I hope you have a great trip! Make sure you try a pineapple whip at the food stand by the Tiki room in Disneyland! They are a unique refreshing treat!

Hi waydownunder,

Our family visited Disneyland mid September two years ago. It was a great time to visit, as the American kids are (I think) all in school. The weather was good, although we did find the early mornings and the evenings quite cool. Dress in layers, and take a jacket for night time.

You%26#39;ll have a great time!

If you can get to the outside anaheim markets - do so!! It is near the Angesl stadium and is a bargain shoppers souvenir paradise. We came back with baseball caps of all different designs for $3 each all sizes all colors - all trends.. disney towels , shoes, heeleys, tshirts 3 for $10. there were no labels here though. Billabong is in downtown disney also. There are several majot shoppping centres along the I-5 but you may have to locate transport - try at your hotel!

Have a blast at Disney We recommend California Adventure as well - California soarin, hollywood tower, back to the future are all great rides in this park! (CA)

(In DISNEYLAND do not MISS A THING!
