Hello,
Is there a hotel located on or close to the beach in either Manhattan, Hermosa or Redondo Beaches that is clean, nice and at least some what affordable? The only place that seemed to meet our needs was the Sea View Inn at the Beach, but apparently they have no availability. Are there any other suggestions in the area? We are looking for just one night and it is the last night of a special occasion trip – but doesn’t have to be super fancy.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
Where to stay?
The SoBay does not have many hotels on the beach (nor much of LA). The Sea View Inn was the best choice for that in MB, but it gets booked up weeks in advance.
The Beach House Inn in Hermosa is right on the beach. In Redondo there is the Portifino Hotel, or the Crown Plaza with Marina views, but no sand.

Where to stay?
Consider staying in Marina del Rey. This is about the same distance from LAX as Manhattan Beach except it is north of the airport instead of south. Check out the Foghorn Harbro Inn:

or the BW Jamaica Inn

Both properties are on Basin D (a cove with a decent-sized beach overlooking a marina in the inland waterway. The ocean is a 4 or 5 block walk down Washington St (adjacent to these hotels).
Good luck!
We have stayed at the Sea Sprite (in the beach-front rooms) and although it is older, it is clean and we were very comfotable. Being directly on the beach makes it that much better. I know it has some bad reviews, but honestly we have never had a problem. You just can%26#39;t beat the location. The Beach House looks fantastic, but we couldn%26#39;t justify spending that much a night when we really only slept and showered in the room.
HopSkipJump,
Thanks so much for these! I never thought of staying N of the airport, but both look great! I will check those out. Am I correct in assuming the beach in the candid traveler photos are of Venice Beach?
Do you recommend one over the other?
Thanks!
Those are photos of the Marina. There%26#39;s one shot of the Venice Pier, though, in the Western Jamaica photos.
they are about $100 difference in price, but equally dated, and equally well-situated, so it%26#39;s really a matter of availability, and/or budget.
