I was wondering how many miles it is between Napa and Yountville, as well as Napa and Calistoga. What time of day does traffic start to build? In traffic, how long does it take to travel from Napa to Yountville and Napa to Calistoga? Thanks so much.

Traffic in the Valley really varies depending on time of day and the season (and, sometimes, the day of the week).
It%26#39;s a 45 min drive from Napa to Calistoga on a good day, and 15 minutes will get you between Napa and Yountville.
But this all depends on traffic.
One of the things your innkeepers (or any local) will be able to help you with is giving you maps, and showing you the short cuts around the traffic on days when it backs up.
There are many. many reasons traffic gets bad here-- a concert at Mondavi (affecting Hwy 29 N and S), a Nascar race (affecting the Carneros), Weekend traffic (slowing things down in different directions, depending on time of day) . . . we could go on and on! :)
There is no hard and fast rule for traffic-- which is why you%26#39;re going to want to talk to someone when you get here (traffic is fluid, and patterns change daily around here).
How do we keep up with all the traffic changes? Easy. Napa Valley has a great grapevine (sorry, we couldn%26#39;t resist! ;D.
We%26#39;ll sometimes read about someone%26#39;s trip to Napa and hear them complain about all the traffic at the wineries. As locals, we kinda shake our heads and grin-- because there are ways around most all of it. You just need to have a local help you out.
That%26#39;s where your innkeepers come in-- when you arrive, ask them for a map, tell them where you%26#39;re going, and when, and ask them what are the best routes for getting there. Or better yet, call them now, and have them help you plan your trip. They%26#39;ll be happy to give you a hand! :)
Enjoy your stay in Napa. It%26#39;s a very special place. :)
