I was wondering if anyone would know where I should try to stand for the fireworks on New Years Eve.We are staying at the Hampton Inn and Suites so would have to take the art back to the hotel after the festivities. Is there somewhere I could stand that would be easier to get to the bus.Any advice would be appreciated.Thank you.
advice for New Years Eve
I%26#39;m not sure how late the ART runs that night, so this is a good question. I%26#39;m pretty sure, though, that they would coordinate their scheduled shuttles to compensate for the late closing time on New Year%26#39;s Eve. Otherwise a lot of people would be stranded there I would think. I haven%26#39;t checked the official schedule but I remember reading last year than DL doesn%26#39;t not close at midnight that night and stays open for at least a couple more hours.
Because of the way that DL park is built there is no place to stand that will make it easier for you to get to the shuttle. Everyone must leave through Main Street. In addition to that being the only exit route, the crowds on Main Street are usually larger than any other park of the park. I think I remember reading that on New Year%26#39;s Eve Fantasyland is less crowded. I also remember reading, and hope this is right, that hanging around is better than leaving because more people are leaving after the fireworks than staying. So following that line of reasoning, that would mean to stay in the area where you stand to watch the fireworks and wait for Main Street to clear.
I don%26#39;t see any reason why ART would not be running later on New Year%26#39;s Eve, but I hope someone else who knows for sure answers.
By the way, make sure you enter DL early in the day. Park capacity may be reached in early afternoon and people will then not be allowed entrance.
advice for New Years Eve
Last New Year%26#39;s Eve we stood in Disney%26#39;s California Adventure and had a good view of the Fireworks. Many people stay in the Esplanade (the large open area between the parks), so that might also work for you and be convenient to the bus pickup and dropoff, and still avoid the crowds.
Thank you for all the advice. This is our first trip to Disneyland and knowing that it will be so busy I am trying to plan things as much as possible.I am starting to get nervous thinking maybe we were crazy to book this trip at such a busy time.I really appreciate the help.Thank you.
Don%26#39;t worry. You can get a lot of advice here about handling crowds and some having to do with New Year%26#39;s Eve. I am pretty sure if you use the search box (right above the postings) you will be able to find threads with advice on New Year%26#39;s Eve at DL from last year. When you get to DL you can also go into the City Hall (like an information desk) on Main Street and get some questions answered as well. And castmembers there at DL can sometimes give you a good idea of how work around crowds.
