I want to thank everyone for their information and ideas about how to get the most and have the best time at DL. I have a couple of last questions. Are there rules prohibiting bringing in water and/or food into DL? Can someone explain the dream fast pass give aways that i have heard a little about??
Thanks in Advance

We bring water in and small snacks all the time for the kids. You can%26#39;t bring picnic baskets in though - but you can leave them in the lockers right outside the front gate and exit for lunch then return to the park.
Dream Fast Passes are part of Disney%26#39;s promotion this year ad are handed out randomly to guest. They allow you to use the fast pass line on all rides throughout both DL and CA throughout the day.

There is actually a request that no food be brought into the parks, but in reality, most food and drink are allowed.
They don%26#39;t want glass bottles, and if they find any at the security check, they will make you take it back to your car/hotel or make you throw it away. Same for alcoholic beverages.
Then there are the hard plastic coolers and things like buckets of chicken, those full meals and coolers are also not allowed, though they have a picnic area outside the park, next to one of the security checkpoints, that you can eat and use those type of things. Lockers are available, but they are between $10 to $15 to store in the area.
On the other hand, a couple of bottles of water, and some snacks, such as granola or even a sandwich will be allowed.
As for the Dream Fastpass, there is currently a contest/sweepstakes going on, and about 1 in 65 people will win something by going to the Disney Parks in the US (or send in a postcard). One of the 4 main prizes at Disneyland is the Dream Fastpass (the other main prizes are a pair of Dream Ears, a Pin Lanyard and a free Photo). If you are in the right place at the right time, you win. Most of the prizes are handed out when you exit an attraction, or walk over a certain line on a pathway. Dream Fastpasses are handed out early in the day (so folks can make the best use of them). If you win one, it is a lanyard with two cards on it, one for Disneyland, and one for DCA. Each plastic card has tabs on them, one for each of the attractions that offer Fastpass, you just hand the plastic tab instead of the normal printed Fastpass.
Search for ';Disney Dreams Giveaway'; here at TripAdvisor for all the details, they were posted about 1 year ago.
I kind of feel guilty posting this so I%26#39;ll just add it to this post instead of making a new one. We got back from Disneyland a week or two ago and we received Dream Fastpasses each of the three days we were there. Prior to our trip I received a lot of great information on this message board so maybe somebody can benefit from our experience.
By pure luck we happened to stumble upon the people handing out the Dream Fastpasses on our first morning at the park. We had gone to Fantasyland during early entry and were heading back to Frontierland about 10 minutes after general park opening. We went thru Sleeping Beauty%26#39;s castle and took the path for Frontierland. There is a tunnel over there (with a barn door entrance I think) that takes you right to the Mexican restaurant and they were standing in that tunnel. Well, having those fastpasses made that day so nice that we decided to try it again the next day. We went to the same spot at 10 minutes after general park opening but there was no one there (in fact the barn doors were closed for that tunnel). However, we kind of hung around and looked for people with the blue and white outfits (that%26#39;s how to recognize the folks handing out the passes). We saw them a minute later. If you%26#39;re standing at the statue of Walt and Mickey and look towards Frontierland there is a little bridge over the water there and that is where they were standing.
On the third day we did the same thing and they were on that same little bridge at 10 minutes after opening. It%26#39;s true that they have a spot and time that they hand them out. We walked by them on that bridge but it wasn%26#39;t quite 10 minutes after opening yet so they didn%26#39;t stop us. We waited a minute and headed back the other way and got them.
Like I said I feel a little guilty posting this because it almost seems a little unethical but those Dream Fastpasses make it soooo nice that we couldn%26#39;t resist once we got the first ones.
Anyway if you%26#39;re going to Disneyland and can benefit from this info ... enjoy!
what do the dream fast passes do? I am not familiar with them..
I think Dream Fast Passes allow you entrance to every Fast Pass line in the park at anytime and as many times as you want that day. I%26#39;ve also just read that the Dream Squad hangs out around DCA.
