Laguna Riveira or Inn at Laguna Beach?

I%26#39;ve read the reviews here, and in fact have a room booked at the Laguna Riviera for 2 days in April. But would I be better off with the Inn at Laguna Beach? How shabby actually *is* the Laguna Riviera? It%26#39;s the last 2 nights of our 25th wedding anniversary jaunt from the UK to California, and I want it to be very special, though we haven%26#39;t got unlimited funds.

Can anyone advise?.

I think that you would be happier at the Inn at Laguna. Since this is a special trip for you then be sure to get an ocean front room. The views from the Inn are spectauclar looking South down the coast. The Inn is located above the village next Heisler Park and the rose garden which is really lovely for strolling above the coves and tidal pools. The Inn has a pool overlooking the ocean. You are a short stroll to the village and have access to many restaurants and all of the shops in Laguna Beach. The Inn is located next to a popular restaurant(Las Brisas) and very fun for drinks at sunset.

Enjoy!!

definitely go for the Inn at Laguna.

Are the view from the oceanfront rooms at the Inn as good as those from the Riviera? Can you get down to the beach easily from the Inn?

And most importantly, which is closer to walk to the shops and town centre? If the Inn is further away, how long would it take to walk to the town centre?

Thanks for any help here!

The Inn at Laguna is downtown AND on the beach. It sits on a small cliff just above the water, but is adjacent to Main Beach. It is also adjacent (on the other side) to Heisler Park, a beautiful seaside park with walking paths. The Riviera is about .5 miles south of town and sits just above the sand.

I%26#39;d go for the Inn at L.

Well, we%26#39;ve booked an oceanfront king at the Inn at Laguna Beach. Now all we%26#39;ve got to do is wait until April!

Thanks for all the advice :-)

Be sure to go for margaritas on the patio at Las Brisas (next door to your hotel). Have fun!

Because our time there was so romantic, when we checked out of our tiny room just 15 minutes from our home at The Inn at Laguna, I wept. We were in Rm. # 105, and I%26#39;d recommend that it be requested. It%26#39;s not on the high floors, so no ocean view but it%26#39;s on the ocean side so you still get the sound of the waves and it%26#39;s not as pricey. We were just steps from the water. A beautiful breakfast tray is included in the price of the room, custom ordered, and brought to the door in the morning. This was very romantic too. Unless you%26#39;re allergic to feather beds, down comforters, and feather pillows, definitely go to the Inn at Laguna.

I also booked the room for a birthday present for our daughter%26#39;s 21st birthday for her and a couple girl friends. They loved it too! There%26#39;s no place like Laguna Beach.

Also, if you can check in Sun..-Thurs. night, the price will be less than a Fri.,Sat. night stay.

beckyjake is right on, there is no place like Laguna and the Inn at Laguna is THE BEST hotel and location.

I agree that Inn at Laguna is great place. The rooms were recently renovated and you can%26#39;t get closer to the ocean. Just small enough that the service can be personalized.

However, be warned about Las Brisas restaurant next door. It is a classic tourist trap.Great view. Very expensive food and slow service. Very busy bar scene.

My favorite restaurants in and near Laguna Beach are Five Feet (Asian Fusion in LB), K%26#39;ya in Laguna Beach, Oysters just north in Newport Beach, Sage at Newport Coast, Golden Truffle in Costa Mesa, Roys in Newport Beach.
