moving to SV

I am considering moving to SV with work, little bit nervous about it. I am a yound female and I would be coming over by myself.

Any tips/suggestions?

moving to SV

SV = ? South Vallejo? Please provide details of the location you are asking about because the acronym is not regularly used here.

moving to SV

Sunnyvale? Sonoma Valley?

More info please.

silicon valley?

C%26#39;mon guys, it%26#39;s way too obvious..... San Vrancisco !!

wherever SV is, I suggest posting on Craigslist housing or jobs forum.

Santa%26#39;s Village?

brunette23: Do you already have a job? If so, be sure your visa and paperwork are in place first.

There are rental apartments with furnishing such as Oakwood Rentals

http://www.oakwood.com/

or Extended Stay Hotels

http://www.extendedstayhotels.com/

are a good place to stay while you decide where you want to live.

If you have a job, be sure it pays well enough to afford the living costs here. They are quite high ($2 - $3K per month is needed just to be in a standard type living situation.). If you don%26#39;t have a job, be sure you have funds for 5 to 6 months before coming as it can take a bit to find a position. In general, it takes about 3 months minimum. Work will want to be sure you have the right visa%26#39;s etc.

Whatever you decide, best of everything to you.

Thanks mini, i actually have a job set up and accomodation sorted in Silicon Valley.... was thinking more along the lines of more general advice...is it a fun place, a safe place and is there lots to do?

You know, the more specific your info, the better the advice.

SiValley covers many cities and its coverage depends on whom you talk to. What city will you be working in?

In general, the peninsula part of the Valley is kind of sleepy and not a fun, partying, singles scene. Again, post your question in the Craigslist Housing forum.
