Tahoe

I am also going to tahoe mid august. I am from San Diego and i am wondering what the best route is to take to lake tahoe.....

I have google mapped it and mapquested it. I can either take the 395 all the way up or they gave me another option to just take the interstate 5 all the way up then the highway 50 heads straight over to tahoe. which is a safer route to drive at night?

Since you are going at night and scenery is is not much of a consideration I would use I 5 to 50. There is more opportunity for roadside assitance/food/gas/etc in the event you need it. 395 can be very dark and quiet at night.

I%26#39;m driving from Tahoe to Rosarito Beach on Friday. We usually take 395, but Suzie has made a good point about the fact that there are more services along 5. If I were driving alone, I think I would take 5.
