coming in by cruise ship.... need help with rental car

it looks like the only rental car place at the cruise terminal is enterprise... and they wont%26#39; book 1 way rentals online.. since i will be using the car for a week in anaheim and then driving to san fransisco.

any suggestions on rentals that are near the cruise terminal. we could always cab it to the rental shop. i was quite surprised to see only the one rental company listed at the terminal... Don%26#39;t others cruise into l.a. and need cars when they get there?

Thanks for any help u guys can offer....

Cruise ships don%26#39;t come into Anaheim...they come into Long Beach or LA. Maybe you should try another board. Chuck...

I%26#39;m sure the OP is well aware of where the cruise ship docks!

I%26#39;d recommend you ask this question at cruisecritic.com. It%26#39;s a website devoted to all things cruising and you will get lots of good advice there.

I am not sure if you are coming into Long Beach or LA. You can find rental car companies and compare prices by using www.sidestep.com or www.kayak.com O focurse therea re more than one rental car compnay office in those cities. it is possilble that they are just not right at the cruise terminal.

Hi forsberg3325, We did exactly the same thing last year on our U.S. trip. We came into Long Beach on a cruise ship and wanted to pick up a car to drive to Anaheim and keep for the rest of our trip. Anyway I did heaps of rental car enqueries but it was much cheaper for us to book with Yes Car Hire which use Dollar or Alamo rentals I believe. The closest depot was Long Beach Airport so we got a cab to the airport (heaps of those when you get off the ship) and picked up our car from there. We could have hired from one of the rental car companys in Long Beach (and I believe they will come and collect you from the cruise terminal if you book with them eg Hertz), but it worked out way cheaper for us to do the cab-Yes car hire option. Good luck and have a great trip!

and yet another post where Chuck feels the need to ridcule yet another poster

sheesh

oh wait that %26#39;s not a word ;)

I know what you mean because it%26#39;s actually a difficult question to get help with. When I was needing help with this issue, I wasn%26#39;t sure whether to post on the Long Beach forum or the Anaheim forum so in my opinion it%26#39;s worth a try on both...no harm done.

thanks alot jldev!!! I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me your personal experience.. It helped me alot.

As for Chuck... didn%26#39;t your mom ever tell you,'; if you don%26#39;t have anything nice tosay.........';

agree with forsberg3325
