Ideas on where to stay? Please help me! Thank you
Next weekend November 11 - Mammoth Lakes Hotel
What kind of lodging are you looking for? What amenities? What do you want to be close to? What is your budget? Need more info....
Next weekend November 11 - Mammoth Lakes Hotel
Mammoth doesn%26#39;t have any hotels (well, there%26#39;s one or two), it%26#39;s all condos.
Go to visitmammoth.com and click on accommodations, you%26#39;ll see all of your options.
Hotels off the top of my head:
Shilo Inn Corner of Main and Mammoth Road
Holiday Inn and Suites on Main
Austria Hof - on Canyon near Canyon Lift
Quality Inn - on Main
Travelodge - On Sierra
Motel 6 on Main
Mammoth Mountain Inn - up at the top near main Gondola
Alpen Hof - on Minaret
Roadway - on Old mammoth rd
Well, those are motels. There%26#39;s a couple hotels, several motels, mostly all condos.
LOL I never treat hotel or motel differently here on TA.
I don%26#39;t think the difference really matters to most travelers.
The difference between a hotel and motel is that a guest can enter the room of a motel from the parking lot whereas a guest of a hotel must enter the room from an indoor corridor. Do we really think of it that way when people inquire?
Anyway the OP hasn%26#39;t come back to indicate what he/she wants.
Suzie, sorry, but I do make the distinction as there is a very strong difference.
Motels do not have any amenities (like room service, a restaurant or bar in the property, a gym, bell captains, etc).
As a traveler, I certainly would not like to be directed to a motel. I%26#39;m only interested in hotels, and appreciate when someone makes that distinction.
Check out The Tamarack Inn up on a lovely lake above the actual town/city. It%26#39;s an Inn with unique rooms in the main building plus a number of cabins. The Restaurant is IMO the best in town. A real Mountain Lodge.
Hi everyone! Thank you for your responses...never been there so was looking for a nice place to stay. Budget? $150? Hiking ideas?
There are many nice condos for rent at this time of year within your budget. Just check visitmammoth.com to see your options.
It might be too cold to hike, but that site, visitmammoth.com has hiking maps, as well. Ski season begins on Thursday (man-made snow, but it%26#39;s cold enough to make snow now)
Oh my. So you can ski (man made snow) beginning this weekend? I will need to come over the Yosemite pass so will need to check the weather as well! Thank you so much for the information. I usually head to Tahoe to ski, but wanted to go to Mammoth while the roads are clear from the Bay Area.
