Koit FM Xmas music

Hello

We listened to this station while in San Francisco last year and have continued to do so over the internet since returning home, does anyone know when they start playing the christmas music?

If you want Christmas music, just go to any shopping center here in the Bay Area right now. Some of them have had their displays up for weeks and have been playing Christmas music since just after Halloween.

Actually, I think KOIT traditionally starts after Thanksgiving (4th Thursday in November). But KOIT changed hands this year and is no longer a Bonneville International station, so I don%26#39;t know if this will continue. We%26#39;ll find out on Nov. 23

Yes they will! From a Chronicle article by Ben Fong-Torres:

THAT TIME OF YEAR: Let me be the first to wish you happy holidays! Actually, it%26#39;ll probably be KOIT (96.5 FM) doing the honors. The light rocker, the dominant music station in the Bay Area, has had success playing holiday sounds 24/7 the past four years, and they%26#39;ll be doing it again this year, probably a couple of weeks after Halloween. If that sounds disgustingly early, KOIT PD Bill Conway notes that at least one station (in Salt Lake City) is unleashing little drummer boys and reindeer on Nov. 1. ';It%26#39;s just amazingly popular,'; says Conway. ';I still don%26#39;t fully understand why it works so well. I guess it%26#39;s because they%26#39;re familiar, positive songs.'; Last winter, he says, his station pulled in 9 percent of the total audience. ';That%26#39;s a staggering amount; that was about 50 percent more than we usually see.';

Ugh.........................................................

Enjoy!
