Tomales Bed and Breakfast - Poet's Loft

Has anyone stayed at the Poet%26#39;s Loft in Tomales? If so, please give feedback.

I need to get away for a night or two and want a nice, quiet BB with views - Any BB suggestions in West Marin?

Tomales Bed and Breakfast - Poet's Loft

We go up to Pt Reyes any times during the year and always prefer to stay right on the water of Tomales Bay near Marshall.

There are B %26amp; Bs in town...but not many have much privacy...nor are any on the water with views.

There is a fabulous lodge style home available for rent to 1-4 people only called Barrracca. ( http://www.vrbo.com/43075 )

From there you can drive to the national park to hike, whale watch, or to the charming town.

Theres also many seafood resterauants in the area. Day trips to Napa, Sonoma, up HWY 1 are fun jaunts. But it very magical just to be on the Bay and watch the wildlife, bird watch or changing clouds and sunsets !

Give yourself at least 2-5 days to explore this area........its like the best of California 40-50 years ago.

Very rural ranch country.....The movie at the Bear Valley visitor center is a must and you can hike out to the beach from there.

Good Luck

Poet%26#39;s Loft is a separate cottage on the water rather than a B%26amp;B inn, so no meals are provided. I%26#39;ve long wanted to stay there for the fantastic views. They normally have a 2-nite minimum as do many of the inns and cottages in West Marin. My favorite place in the area is the very private Sea Star Cottage which is part of the Hollytree Inn鈥檚 (www.hollytreeinn.com) properties. The cottage is right over the bay at the end of its own pier and you experience the tide going in and out beneath you! The views are absolutely wonderful. The cottage has a small, but very functional kitchen, so you can prepare meals if you don鈥檛 wish to dine out. There%26#39;s also a large hot tub on the enclosed deck area, and a wood-burning stove. It%26#39;s the kind of place you don%26#39;t ever want to leave (except perhaps to go out to dinner!)

Thanks to both of you for your kind and detailed responses. All sound beautiful. I love West Marin and look forward to a getaway when I get a chance.
