One day Only =(

Hi! My husband, myself, and another couple will arrive in San. Fran. around 1pm (Sat. in October) and then will be heading to Sonoma/Napa around 1pm the next day. We%26#39;re staying at the Clift and will have a rental car. Would love to see the bridge but otherwise we%26#39;re open to suggestions. We%26#39;re in our mid to late 20s and enjoy the touresty stuff during the day and fun nightlife. Any recommendations? Any ';do not miss'; places or restaurants (we figure one lunch and one dinner)? Any fun ways to see the bridge?

Thank you!

It appears you have yet to look at a map nor done any of your own research.

芦we%26#39;re open to suggestions.禄

Get a map, do some research, sit down cry %26#39;cause you%26#39;re spending so little time here.

芦We . . . enjoy . . . nightlife.禄

The frequently-updated SPECIAL EVENTS page has irregularly-scheduled music and dances as well as links to seven calendars of regularly-scheduled dances, a composite of five of them, and one of dance cruises and events around the world: http://geocities.com/dancefest/Specials.html The MUSIC section at the bottom of the page focuses on the best of jazz.

芦';do not miss';禄

The ';Don%26#39;t-miss SIGHTS in San Francisco'; page geocities.com/touringsfo/Articles/Sights.html has enough to keep you busy for nine 12.7-hour days. It includes links to your best sources of advice on WHERE TO EAT and, according to the Department of Health, WHERE TO NOT EAT here, the UseNet Group ba.food, and the quite-good sfSurvey and the comprehensive Yelp. It also has a WEATHER CHART with a link to current conditions.

芦Any fun ways to see the bridge?禄

Forgive me for stating the obvious, but I presume a head and/or hand stand would be a fun way to see The Bridge.

The way to see the bridge is to drive to Sonoma/Napa. You cross it. When you get to the other side, stop at the viewing area and gasp at the beautiful view you will have of San Francisco (hopefully no fog) and look at the bridge. There are other fun ways to see the bridge, but you just don%26#39;t have time.

You won%26#39;t want to be driving your car in the city during the 24 hours minus sleep) you have to sightsee. Public transportation is excellent and parking in tourist areas is expensive and hard to find.

If you are picking you car up when you arrive just leave it parked in the hotel garage (expensive). Many people wait to pick up their rental car just before they leave the city.

Since you are staying at the Clift you can just walk to Union Square 3 blocks, I think, where you can catch a Muni bus or a cable car. Walk down two or three blocks to get on BART or the trolleys.

I would suggest getting a guide book of San Francisco and studying it to make a decision on what you really want to see in such a short time.
