On the official alcatraz cruises website the 27 and 28 of July are sold out which is when I will be in town, I read before that other tour companies repackage the tour and sell them for a slightly higher fee, I wouldn%26#39;t mind paying more at this stage, but where can I try?

Have a look at tour companies like Grayline - Tower.
They have combo tours including Alcatraz .

Some companies do not sell them for a higher fee, they simply pass through the costs, as long as you are buying a tour. Look for Gray Line or Extranomical Tours, for instance, and see if they have a city tour and Alcatraz package combined. You may get other destinations packaged with Alcatraz as well:

Make sure, whatever tour company you go with, that the tour specifically goes to Alcatraz island with an audio tour, etc. Many tours advertise that you ';see'; Alcatraz from a ferry. That%26#39;s not the same thing as disembarking, touring the prison and getting back on the boat to go back.
