We will be in Carmel this weekend. Where do we go for a relaxing brunch or lunch with a great view of the sea?

My favorite place is the Trailside Cafe in Monterey (http://www.trailsidecafe.com/). It%26#39;s very relaxed and casual, and the food is great.Check out the photos on their website. In Carmel, you could try the Terrace Grill at La Play Hotel. I%26#39;m not 100% sure about the views there, though. Also, for beautiful ocean views from up high, you can go to the California Market at the Highlands Inn, just a few minutes south of Carmel on Hwy 1.

California Market would be your best bet, amazing views of the coastline from the outside patio and indoor dining area here, the tables have binoculars on them also, which is a nice touch. Really good food, also.

Another place is the Mission Ranch, out on the outdoor patio area there, you will have oceanviews and green pastures as your scenery while you dine.

In Monterey, the restaurants at the Plaza hotel are very good and they both have oceanviews. Schooner%26#39;s Bistro is the less formal venue and The Duck Club is the more formal restaurant. I have a review with some photos of our last meal at The Duck Club.

If you go to Pebble Beach, Roy%26#39;s can%26#39;t be beat for gorgeous views of the ocean in a spectacular setting. Let us know how it goes and welcome to the travel forums, you will love Carmel! :)
