Where can we find these please?
Music stores/guitars?I like Haight Ashbury Music, 1540 Haight St. They have a good selection of guitars.

Or Guitar Center 1645 Van Ness Ave, it%26#39;s a chain superstore with all kinds of instruments, equipment, etc.

For CD%26#39;s, records etc. Amoeba Records is right down the street

Music stores/guitars?If you go to Haight-Ashbury music, Panhandle Guitars is a few blocks away on Fell %26amp; Broderick. Panhandle is a much smaller store specializing in vintage guitars. Not cheap but there%26#39;s always something interesting in the window.
Rocker Guitars is located near where the Guitar Center used to be on Howard @ 9th. I%26#39;ve never been inside but it supposedly has a lot of high-end gear.
Thanks Simbot %26amp; eephus. Have checked out websites. We are at Blues Festival last weekend of Sept but like all kinds of music. Apart from Biscuits %26amp; Blues are there any other venues we should check out. Safe areas please! Also do we need to book? Thanks.
If you%26#39;re just looking for blues, John Lee Hooker%26#39;s (RIP) Boom Boom Room on Fillmore and Geary is another option. The neighborhood is neither the best or worst but it%26#39;s a busy intersection and the #38 bus from Union Square stops 20%26#39; from the door.
With the Blues Festival in town, other clubs may have blues acts booked. But you%26#39;ll have to check around for specifics online or in the weekly papers when you arrive
We like all kinds of music, altho mainly rock, soul, blues - old stuff. Not into clubbing (too old)! Can%26#39;t deal with strobe lighting either - hubby has Epilepsy. Is there anything worth seeing at a theatre whilst we%26#39;re there?
It%26#39;s tough to say who%26#39;s going to be booked in the clubs two months out. You could do worse than asking the people around you at the Blues Fest what their night time plans are.
Check out www.SFArts.org for theater and other arts events. You can plug in dates, and whatever is calendered at the time will pop up.
For higher end acoustic gear (i.e. Martin, Lowden, Taylor, Larivee) I like Guitar Solo, it can be a bit snooty there, but if you have some idea what you want, you can play some really top end stuff. They have a collection of classicals made in Italy that will run you $$$$$. http://www.gspguitar.com/
For vintage and funkier stuff, Real Guitars is the place to go. Store is packed with treasures, almost like a museum. A real SF kind of place. http://realguitars.com/
Personally, I don%26#39;t like Guitar Center, but if you want a range of gear from cheaper low end stuff all the way up to one of a kind items, and aren%26#39;t afraid to bargain, it%26#39;s the supermarket of music stores. When bargaining start by taking at least 30% off, and get ready to haggle.
**no affiliation with any of these...
- Cheers,
Curtis
