Looking for ';cheap hotel'; VERY near CBS televison City

I JUST recieved tickets to %26#39;So u think u can dance';, for Thurs 7/26/07..........want to leave that morning...from ILLINOIS, and return next day 7/27/07.

3 people HOPEFULLY going PROVIDED that I can get the airfare together, AND somewhere to stay, LAST MINUTE! Its ONLY for the night. I figure, if we get there that morning, MAYBE we can check in BEFORE we have to go to CBS, ( we have to be there BY 3:30 p.m.) and by the time we leave there, heck..........it will be abut 6:30ish, and we could leave out first thing in the mornig on Fri.

Is Burbank a closer/better airport to go into INSTEAD of LAX in these circumstances????

Yeah, Burbank would be better if $$ is competitive.

Your plane would have to arrive by 10AM and no later, to take into account traffic getting to CBS (which is by The Grove, so look into Farmer%26#39;s Daughter Motel which is across the street from CBS) or your hotel and checking in. When tickets say 3:30, they really mean earlier, so you should get there by 2PM at the latest (they overbook the seats to assure a full house, so it is first come, first seated).

Burbank is sometimes cheaper, but not usually. CBS is equal distance to LAX and BUR.

The best deal I could find was:

Jet Blue non-stop from Chicago (ORD) to Long Beach (LGB)

departing ORD at 7:30 am, arriving at LGB at 9:36am.

Return from LGB at 10:35am, arrive ORD at 4:29pm

Total fare per person: $457.30

You%26#39;ll need to get to CBS from Long Beach and the best way is to rent a car. The drive is about 40 minutes with no traffic (there should be no traffic when you arrive).

Renting a car will be especially helpful if your hotel is not within walking distance of the studios. It will also give you a place to put your luggage if the room isn%26#39;t ready or, worst case, the flight is late and you don%26#39;t have time to go to the hotel.

Rent4Less (http://www.rentfourless.com/) has cars from $27 per day. Remember you would be picking up the car at Long Beach airport.

Now, you need a hotel. The Farmer%26#39;s Daughter is sold out. There are a bunch of cheap motels near CBS but I wouldn%26#39;t recommend them. Instead, I%26#39;ll recommend the Hollywood Celebrity Hotel:

Another possibility is the Park Plaza Lodge Hotel. Info at

This hotel is hard to make reservations at (their website doesn%26#39;t take them) but you can call them -- their number is on their site. It is a decent place and within walking distance to CBS (about 7 blocks). If you%26#39;re able to get a room there, do it. Otherwise, take the Celebrity hotel.
